Clinical Cloud Infrastructure (CCI)
Welcome to the Clinical Cloud Infrastructure (CCI) at BIH@Charité.
The CCI is an on-premises cloud running on hardware located in the CBF data center. We provide clinics-friendly, flexible, on-demand computing resources through a service-oriented model.
You can decide what kind of virtual machines you want to run, and self-manage these virtual machines.
If you don't need to work with clinical or sensitive data, we recommend our other infrastructure — see Other Infrastructure for de.NBI Cloud Berlin and Eils HPC.
Why CCI
- Secure environment — built for sensitive and patient data
- Clinically interoperable — integrates with hospital and clinical systems
- Internal by design — not publicly reachable, for projects that need that boundary
- Supports strategic institutional initiatives
What you get on CCI
- Self-managed virtual machines — you decide what to run
- Storage and web services (internal)
- Linux servers with root access — internal, clinical-secure
- Kubernetes clusters
- LLM services — a dedicated LLM API instance running independently within CCI, isolated from public infrastructure
